Napoli Home Kit
As an avid Arsenal fan I always tune into the games online or at a bar when they're playing (If I can't get tickets to a match) but where they are playing I'm most likely following that's what you do when you support a club. Anyway this post isn't actually about Arsenal but their Europa League Italian opponents Napoli. On Thursday (18th April 2019) we had the second leg of our quarter-final Europa League tie at their home ground the 'Stadio San Paolo' and one thing I noticed when the teams came out was instantly Napoli's home kit. The bright blue, geometric patterned shirt with fluorescent yellow marks, white shorts, with their crest on the blue socks and (the same) yellow strap.
Personally I liked the kit very much, we don't see designs like this in the premier league so it was refreshing to see something so different being allowed in a European competition (sometimes there are design restrictions) but it received a lot of backlash from their own fans and let's just say their fans remained split over the design. Something about the kit (which is where it won me) that I didn't notice until I saw it up close was, amongst the geometric blue patterns, if you look closely you can see a panther in the design which I thought was quite clever, the idea behind the inclusion of the panther I read, was that their club owner wanted to see 11 beasts fighting on the pitch this season, pretty cool stuff.
Take a look at the design below:
